lazing around in my pajamas was not how i originally planned to spend this day; i thought i'd probably wander around in the sweltering heat that i'd missed while in Melbourne (and the combination of sweat and grime that inevitably come along with it, unfortunately), taking in the sights and sounds that only a city such as Kuala Lumpur can offer.
really, i told myself, as i sat Indian-style on the butt pillow my mom bought me so i needn't sit on cold hard tile while i tapped away at my laptop, i should be out and about, not moping about my lifelessness on the Internet.
and just as i was thinking that, a friend called, and yelled "HEY I'M BORED. I DON'T CARE LET'S GO HAVE A DRINK." and have a drink we did :D
it was awesome catching up with someone absolutely familiar with who you really were, and what you're really like, and someone who won't judge what or who you've turned into and accepts change for the better, no matter what.
and he gave me the best advice that anyone could ever give me; i just wonder why it took me so long to see it. "you're what, twenty this year? seriously. just get out there, you don't need anybody. you just need to live, because in a few years you can't do things you could before. because you'd have more responsibilities then."
it was a huge wakeup call for me. if things don't work out twice, so why fight for something that's most likely never going to happen, right? move on, i shall :) this calls for brighter days and happy music.
speaking of music, i think you should really check out these tracks because i stumbled upon them tonight and i cannot stop listening!
so jazzy and soulful! and that beat-- it just makes you feel so lighthearted and dancey :)
very quirky lyrics sung in a very interesting accent.
